The cool and scenic ambience of LALBAGH Botanical garden in Bangalore reverberated with the harmonious rendition of the heartwarming “O Mur Apunor Dekh” by all the fifty or more AXOMIYA raij, including the young “Moinas” who had gathered for the first Moina Mel RODALI on Sunday.
It was an evening to remember, an evening to cherish, a time reminiscent of our beloved Axom as the cheerful laughter and melodic singing of the young children, their youthful exuberance and playful innocence made it one of the most memorable and enjoyable evening of our life here in Bangalore.
We were overwhelmed with emotion and greatly inspired by the enthusiastic response from all who actively participated in our first MOINA MEL session and we would like to extend our heartiest thanks to our young Moinas’ and their Parents for making it such an interactive, fun filled and learning session. Also, a special thanks to everyone else who was present yesterday and lent an encouraging support with their participation and valuable inputs.
We look forward to everyone’s continued support, encouragement and participation and hope more of our Axomiya raij and our young Moinas will join us in our future sessions.

Snapshots from RODALI on 25th May, Sunday:

We gathered at around 4-4.30 pm in the evening with Yugantar da starting off the proceedings with a brief introduction or “Hobha’r Udeshyo Bakhya” wherein he welcomed everyone and outlined the intention and significance of organizing such MOINA MEL sessions in a place like Bangalore which is seeing an ever-increasing influx of Assamese people from different walks of life.
Then, we had a brief self-introductory or “Moina hokolor Sina-porisoi” round where everyone from the young children to the adults present introduced themselves.
This was followed by some fun activities like poem-recital and singing of Assamese poems and songs by our young Moinas’, thus displaying their budding talent and potential to the fullest.
Then it was QUIZ time. A few questions related to AXOM, its history and culture were thrown at the young participants to gauge their level of awareness, but all were answered with great élan and confidence.
Taking cognizance of the fact that “All work and no play may make our young Moinas dull”, we had a “Khel-dhemali” session full of games like “tekeli-bhonga” wherein all our young moinas participated with great enthusiasm and vigour.
Finally, after a quick round of snacks and soft drinks/juice, the first RODALI session was concluded with everyone proudly joining in the singing of “O MUR APUNOR DEKH……….” taking us all through a nostalgic trip back to our beloved Axom, a truly XUOLA-XUPHOLA AXOM........ ..!
